Modern Shopify Redesign for a Premium Floral Brand

This project involved redesigning and rebuilding an outdated floral ecommerce website into a sleek, modern, luxury-focused Shopify experience. The goal was to elevate the brand visually while keeping the shopping experience simple, intuitive, and welcoming for everyday customers.
Inspired by premium floral brands like UrbanStems and McQueens Flowers, the final result is a dark, elegant interface that allows the flowers themselves to stand out creating a refined, highend feel without intimidating buyers.

Project Goal

The primary goal of this project was to modernize the client’s online presence while maintaining a familiar structure for existing customers.

The website needed to:

Feel luxury, sleek, and professional
Showcase flowers as the hero using minimal, dark UI elements
Support subscriptions, daily ordering, seasonal collections, and events
Integrate seamlessly with Shopify POS for in-store and online sales
Scale easily as the brand grows and introduces new products

Ultimately, the objective was to create a future-proof Shopify site that supports both ecommerce
and in-store operations while elevating the brand perception.

Target Audience

The site is designed for customers who value quality, aesthetics, and convenience, including:

Individuals ordering flowers for everyday moments and special occasions
Corporate clients requesting recurring floral arrangements
Subscription customers looking for flexible, ongoing deliveries
Event and wedding clients seeking premium floral design services

The experience needed to appeal to both casual buyers and high-end clientele, without feeling overly complex or exclusive.

Project Challenges

One of the main challenges was striking the right balance between luxury design and usability.
Key challenges included:

Updating the visual identity without disrupting the existing site structure
Creating a dark, elegant UI while keeping text readable and navigation clear
Designing a product catalog that supports year-round staples alongside seasonal collections
Ensuring subscriptions remained flexible while still being easy to manage
Planning Shopify POS integration for smooth in-store checkout

Another challenge was aligning the website design with newly updated product photography and naming ensuring the entire experience felt cohesive and intentional.

Solution & Implementation

To address these challenges, I focused on:

A dark, neutral color palette with minimal accent colors
Clean typography to enhance readability and brand polish
Large, high-quality product imagery to let the flowers speak for themselves
A structured product system that allows seasonal items to be shown or hidden automatically
Shopify-native tools and apps to ensure long-term stability and scalability

Subscriptions were designed as fixed packages with an optional special request field, giving designers flexibility while keeping the ordering process simple for customers.
